簡(jiǎn)介：　　張儀（張錚 飾）作為秦國丞相，前來楚國是為了破壞東方六國的團(tuán)結(jié)，倡導(dǎo)“連橫”政策，以便秦國能夠各個(gè)擊破其他國家。雖然楚王（李清 飾）聽從了屈原（鮑方 飾）的勸告，拒絕了張儀，但張儀卻轉(zhuǎn)而與南后鄭袖（朱虹 飾）合作，企圖除掉屈原這一政治障礙。南后鄭袖是個(gè)陰險(xiǎn)狡詐的女人，她指使上官大夫靳尚加害屈原，并親自出面陷害他。她故意在楚王進(jìn)宮時(shí)假裝頭暈，撲倒在屈原懷里，并誣告屈原調(diào)戲她。楚王被激怒，罷免了屈原的官職。在南后的努力下，楚王接受了張儀的“連橫”計(jì)劃，與東方各國絕交，張儀因此成為楚國的座上賓。　　在一次外出時(shí)，屈原遇到了南后和張儀，南后對(duì)他進(jìn)行了戲弄。屈原感到憤怒和悲傷，公開斥責(zé)南后和張儀。楚王下令將屈原關(guān)進(jìn)東皇太一廟。太卜鄭詹收到女兒南后的密令，要將屈原毒死。屈原的侍女嬋娟前來探望他，屈原不知酒中有毒，將毒酒送給嬋娟。嬋娟飲下毒酒后身亡，但為了替屈原受罪而感到欣慰。屈原為她的犧牲而感到悲痛，于是哀誦《橘頌》。
